Bio:
Kate McCombs is a sexual health educator providing engaging, supportive presentations on a variety of sexual health topics, including birth control, pleasure physiology, STI prevention, and relationship communication.
A California native, Kate completed a B.A. in Anthropology at UC Berkeley and is currently completing a Master of Public Health degree at the University of Melbourne in Australia.
Kate's work in the field began with UC Berkeley's volunteer Sexual Health Educator Program (SHEP), where she trained peers in sexual health content as a Coordinator, and provided pre-colposcopy counseling to patients at the University Health Services' Tang Center. Concurrently, Kate participated in the University's Health Services Internship program, providing administrative support at the G House for homeless youth in San Francisco.
Kate subsequently worked as an Off-Site Sex Educator (OSSE) for Good Vibrations in Berkeley, providing pleasure physiology presentations to various groups throughout the California Bay Area, including LGBT youth leaders, women in addiction recovery, and university students.
Kate also works independently as a sexual health educator and guest lecturer for Bay Area educational institutions. She has lectured at UC Berkeley, San Francisco State University, and St. Mary's College, and also provides age-appropriate puberty and health education to children and young adults in primary and secondary schools.
