Teaching with My Professional Soulmate

I’ve had a powerful last six weeks.

Kate and Louise in MalibuIf you’ve been following my adventures on Instagram, you’d know I’ve been touring the US and teaching with my professional soulmate, Louise Bourchier. She’s based in Auckland, so we don’t get to see each other as often as we’d like.

Louise and I met while we were both getting our Masters in Public Health in Melbourne, Australia (click here to watch me tell the whole story). Very soon after we met, we started teaching together. I quickly realized that teaching with her was one of my favorite things in life.

Needless to say, this tour with her has been exhilarating. We taught at the Antique Vibrator Museum in San Francisco, the Youth Arts Collective in Monterey, and at SHAG in Brooklyn.

We also attended the second annual Sex Geekdom retreat, along with a host of other amazing folks who are involved in running Sex Geekdom events internationally. Sex geek community FTW.

It’s been full of connection, learning, and purpose.

Louise and Kate T&E at SHAGNow, I’m back to my life as normal and feeling more motivated than ever to help people build the kinds of relationships – both romantic and platonic – that bring them joy.

I’ve been getting some truly lovely feedback from the folks who’ve attended my Tea & Empathy events about how it’s helped them connect to their partners, friends, and families. Empathy is a communication superpower and it’s worth investing in getting better at it.

So you can expect more of these workshops in the coming months.

For those of you in New York City, I’ll be running Tea & Empathy at a beautiful space in the Financial District on August 30th. You can read the details and buy tickets here.

I’m also taking Tea & Empathy across the Pacific. I’m planning some events in Melbourne and Auckland for October, which also involves reuniting with a certain professional soulmate of mine. More details soon 🙂
